Qur’an Reading and Memorization Tracker + Limited FREE Download

﷽

Qur'an Reading Memorization Tracker plus Free Download Ihsaan Home AcademyOur relationship with the Qur’an is something we should continue to nurture throughout our lives. We may read it more on some days than others. Maybe some ayaat are easier on our tongues, while others need more practice. We may memorize a surah only to later realize that we need to revise it again. And sometimes, we read an ayah that stays with us long after we have closed the Mushaf.

All that is part of the journey.

As a mother and homeschooling parent, I love creating simple tools that help us organize our learning without making it feel like another burden. I wanted to create something that could help us keep track of our Qur’an reading and memorization while also making room for reflection.

All that encouraged me to make the Qur’an Reading & Memorization Tracker.

An overview of all 114 surahs

Quran Overview Sample

The tracker begins with an overview of all 114 surahs of the Qur’an. Each surah is listed with its Arabic name, transliteration, surah number, number of ayaat per surah, the meaning of its name and a progress report to show if the surah can be read well, is in progress or has been memorized.

I wanted this information to be available in one place, making it easier to navigate the Qur’an and become familiar with its surahs.

Track & rate your reading and memorization

Quran Rating SampleOne of the most useful features is the rating page with a five-star rating system, which allows you to rate how well your reading/memorization is going.

It also shows which surah is Makki or Madani, includes visual icons representing its meaning, and shows the Juz references to help you locate all 30 juz of the Qur’an.

These features can help you see your progress over time and identify the surahs that may need more attention or revision.

Instead of trying to remember everything, you have a record you can return to whenever you need it.

More than checking off a surah

Quran Reading Sample PageI didn’t want this tracker to only be about completing a checklist. Reading and memorizing the Qur’an are wonderful goals, but I also wanted to leave room for us to think about what we are reading.

Each surah recording page includes space to write down the main message of the surah, along with a place to record a favorite ayah or something that stood out to you.

There is also a box for every ayah in the surah. You can check off or color in each box as you work through your reading and memorization. You can use these boxes to track your first reading, your memorization or your revision. Simply adapt the pages to suit your own routine.

Over time, these pages can become a personal record of your journey through the Qur’an, including the ayaat you reflected on and the messages you want to remember.

Begin with your intentions

At the beginning of the tracker, there is a page to record your reasons for wanting to memorize the Qur’an, along with your personal du’a for the journey.

You can also record your starting date, completion date, preferred Qari, and preferred translation.

I particularly like the idea of writing down our intentions before we begin. It gives us something to return to when our routines become difficult or our motivation changes.

We don’t all have the same goals. One person may want to improve their reading, another may be working toward memorizing the entire Qur’an, and someone else may want to help their children develop a consistent Qur’an routine. Whatever your goal is, having a place to record it can help you approach your journey with greater intention inshaa Allah.

Using the tracker for homeschooling

If you homeschool, this tracker can also be used as part of your family’s Qur’an studies. I initially made it for my children, then realized that I could use it as well.

You can adapt its use to suit your child’s age and ability. Younger children may need your help with the written reflections, while older children can use the pages more independently.

No need to turn it into another demanding assignment. It can simply be a place to record what your child is already learning and to encourage steady progress.

You can also use the tracker yourself alongside your children. Learning together can be a beautiful way to make the Qur’an a more regular part of family life.

If you prefer a weekly or daily tracker/planner version, check the Weekly Qur’an Reading and Memorization Tracker & Planner or the Daily Qur’an Reading and Memorization Tracker & Planner.

Progress at your own pace

There is no need to rush through the pages or compare your progress with someone else’s. You may spend weeks working on one surah or return to a surah you thought you had memorized because you need to strengthen its memorization. You may discover a new meaning in an ayah you have read many times before.

Use the tracker in a way that benefits you. Let it help you stay organized, observe the progress you are making, and remember the surahs you want to revisit.

Most importantly, let it support your efforts to build a lasting relationship with the Book of Allah.
